Mr. McLaren is a graduate of the Université de Montréal where he obtained his civil law degree in 1981. He became a member of the Barreau du Québec the following year. After having practised law for a few years he went back to shcool and obtained his Common Law degree from Dalhousie Univeristy in 1986. He also holds a Master’s degree in Law from the Université de Montréal. He has worked as a litigator and Legal Counsel in the private as well as the public sector. His law practice is currently devoted exclusively to Family Law. He has been certified by the “Barreau du Québec” as a Family Law mediator. Mr. McLaren is also a duly registered lobbyist at both the federal and provincial (Quebec) level. Mr. McLaren has been involved for many years as a volunteer for the Canadian Bar Association notably as Chair of the Conference of French-Speaking Members from Common Law Provinces and Territories. |
